About Us
The Weissenborn Guitar Heritage Archive is an independent project dedicated to documenting, preserving, and celebrating the legacy of H. Weissenborn Co. of Los Angeles. Founded in the early 20th century by Hermann Weissenborn, the company produced hollowneck Hawaiian guitars, Kona guitars, ukuleles, and Spanish guitars that remain iconic in both sound and design.
This archive exists to bring together historical knowledge, surviving documentation, and resources for today’s players, collectors, and luthiers. While unaffiliated with the original H. Weissenborn Company, our mission is to ensure that the instruments, their craftsmanship, and their cultural influence continue to be recognized and appreciated around the world.
